Two baby koalas made their public debut this past week at the Los Angeles Zoo.

The unnamed youngsters who at birth were ¾ inches are now crawling out of the pouch and exploring the koala habitat. The newborn’s mothers, Georgy and Jane, arrived in early November 2005 from the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia to mate with the male, Baz, who has lived at the Los Angeles Zoo since 2003. Baz initiated the Zoo’s new breeding program by immediately mating with one of the female koalas upon introduction.
